The TriDistrict Career & College Readiness Initiative and TriDistrict CAPS, in collaboration with CareerForceMN, Dakota County Libraries, and the Dakota/Scott County Workforce Development Board is presenting a Virtual Teen Summer Job Fair. This online job fair runs from 8am on Tuesday, March 16th through 9pm on Friday, March 19th. There is also a live, Drop-In event with employers on Thursday, March 18th from 3:30-6:30pm. The fair is intended for students of all ability levels, ages 14+. Approximately 40 employers have already committed to participate in this event.
How Do I Get Started?
Students must first register for the fair by creating an account. Click HERE to complete this first critical step. Once registered, students can create their profile and upload a resume/application.
Then, beginning at 8am on Tuesday, March 16, students can log back in to their account by accessing the same site they used to create their account. Once logged in, they will select their age, and they will then be directed to employers who have indicated they are hiring in that age group. From there, students can search employers, the positions that need to be filled, submit an application, etc.
Next, on Thursday, March 18th from 3:30-6:30pm, students can log to attend a live, Drop-In event, where they can meet and speak with representatives from the hiring businesses. Don’t waste this opportunity to make a great first impression!
Finally, the Virtual Job Fair will close down at 9pm on Friday, March 19th. Employers will continue to accept applications through this time.
With some good planning and preparation, candidates may be selected for follow-up interviews.
