On May 15, students in Pat Killian’s Anatomy and Human Physiology course furthered their investigations of the circulatory system by dissecting pig hearts. The operations were conducted under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Saltzman, the Chief of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Minnesota and a parent of two Sibley graduates.
In addition to assisting the students in their exploration of the specimens, Dr. Saltzman also briefed the class on common maladies affecting the heart and the surgical procedures used to remedy them.
